The day today started off with a high and low search for warm clothing. Having come from Australia, my luggage is kinda prepped for the more warmer climates (although, Australia definitely has its cold days), which means that jumpers and long sleeved shirts are where it’s at. I’ve got some warm stuff, but I decided to add to it a little bit with my purchases, however, I’m gonna see how I end up going as to whether I buy more along the way. I generally have a tendency to get really cold; especially in my hands and feet.

I ended up meeting Polly at around 3PM today, which was a little later than I originally would have liked, but it worked out extremely well. We didn’t really have any set in stone plans, so we just decided to walk until we found a suitable place to wine and dine - and that we did, substituting wine with beer. I’ll admit, it was a slightly pretentious little bar with over expensive “bar snacks”, but it was nice enough and seemed friendly. It was really great to catch up with an old friend after almost 2 years, and especially great to meet her in her homeland of New Zealand where she can show me around - and show me around she did.

The majority of our time together was spent walking around the city, and we even ended walking up to Mount Eden to see the views. Mount Eden is in fact a volcano, did you know? There are also quite a few other volcanoes dotted around the area, adding to the fantastic view. The view was stunning, and it just looked awesome to see such a juxtaposition of attributes, with the metal city sitting next to the hilly grasslands and trees. It was a little hazy when we got up there so my pictures aren’t great - not that my pictures are great generally *shakes fist at phone camera*!!!

I’m definitely worn out after todays walking activities, and I swear I’ve walked more in the past 2 weeks than I have in my entire life - okay, that may be a bit of an overstatement, but it feels like it OKAY?!

Tomorrow will be a pretty boring day as journal days go, so look forward to an entry of being in a library, buying a bag (maybe), and packing. No, seriously, that is what tomorrow will consist of to the tee!
