Hello my lovely internet dwellers, I'm constantly listening to music whether it be when reading, walking to work, in the car, at work, or where ever music listening takes my fancy. I love finding new music, but every now and then I'll chance upon a classic that takes me back to my younger years when growing up.

We all have those songs that remind us of certain things or of certain times in our lives, and these songs definitely encapsulate my teenage years:

I Don't Feel Like Dancin' - Scissor Sisters
The Scissor Sisters were most definitely a guilty pleasure band of my teenage years - everyone thought they were weird so (stupidly) I kept my love for them on the down low. Now I don't believe in guilty pleasures, you like what you like, and that's that! I just adored their catchy synthy songs and you can't help but sing along and be happy when you hear their music.

Harder To Breathe - Maroon 5
These may still be one of my favourite bands of all time; I pretty much have all their albums and don't think I disliked any of their songs. Their best and most known album "Songs About Jane" was a playlist that was kept on repeat for a long time when I was younger - I remember vividly listening to it whilst playing Final Fantasy 8 on the Playstation. I knew, and know, every single word to every single song on that album and I'm not ashamed.

Rock Your Body - Justin Timberlake
My first celebrity crush, sigh. I loved JT, he was so cool and very hot (wow, that sounds totally contradictory, haha). His singles are just all chart classics in my opinion; he was a master of all that he did and he never failed to create a catchy anthem that everyone would be dancing along to. In my opinion, his albums were never that great, I loved the singles and the odd song - it was as if his singles were poppy chart toppers and everything else was slow-jammy RnB.

Grace Kelly - Mika
Haha, oh Mika you one hit wonder you! Out of all the one hit wonders, this has got to be one of my favourites - I think it's because he's very similar to the Scissor Sisters. His music was flamboyant, bright and colourful with a charming pop beat. He plain and simply created a good pop song that everyone loved to sing along to, extremely high notes included!

Umbrella - Rihanna
Rihanna, why can't you create songs like this now? Why did you have to go down the grimey dirty road? I could understand the words in her old songs, (work work work work jigga jigga higga work work work work) and although they weren't all clean cut they had meaning, and were just good. Maybe Umbrella didn't mean anything on the surface, but I'm sure there was something hidden under the playful lyrics...maybe. Anyways, who cares, it was a great song!

Gold Digger - Kanye West
Oh oh, this is a song that actually reminds me of someone - my best friend Robyn. We'd constantly be singing this song...well actually we'd just sing the first line over and over again and then the odd line in the middle of the song. Leave us alone, we didn't know the words to rap songs then, haha!

What songs give you nostalgia?
